Prevention of Violence in the Workplace |
My
Thoughts on Tactical Training
I
have been to numerous training schools where the training company has a big
facility to let YOU train. This is all good if you are going to be conducting
an operation in their town or city or in that building. I believe in using the local
agency's locations to do the training. Their buildings, schools, office
complexes and other facilities that enhance the officer's ability to
train. In down time, or after hours, I believe in conducting training
in places likely to be a target rich environment, such as malls,
schools and banks. Train for worst case scenario and everything else
is a piece of cake.
Unlike many other instructors, I always run in the
student's "stack" as an Operator, or shoot drills if another Firearms
Instructor is present. I always run in the stack on the final scenario
and shoot or get shot at. I won't ask the student to do anything I am
not willing to do. If I can't do it, I am not going to train it!

You don't have to only
live in Odessa to have this training, as I will come to your company
and do the training, if needed.
Many who have never experienced workplace violence say, "I don't need
to worry about this. It would never happen at my company." Violent
incidents are relatively rare, but they do occur, and lives can be
lost. Preparation and investment in prevention now could save
a life later. There is no strategy that works for every situation, but
the likelihood of a successful resolution is much greater if you have
prepared ahead of time. This 8 hour course is designed to help you do
just that:
Be prepared for violence in the workplace.

to the bad)
